Martin writes first checks at Incisive Ventures, a pre-seed fund. Before that he raised venture rounds himself as a multi-time CEO. He has now sat on both sides of the fundraising table — hundreds of pitches heard, and the sweaty side of the table too.
That's the point of the show. Most fundraising interviews are journalists asking founders how it felt. Round Numbers is an investor asking a founder what the spreadsheet said: how many names on the list, which intros actually converted, where the deck lost the room, what the lead needed to see. The questions you'd ask a founder friend over coffee after the wire cleared.
